Tallie's Story...
Lake Haven received an urgent plea from a shelter in Georgia requesting help with 28 puppies and 4 adult dogs. They were all scheduled to be euthanized and Lake Haven stepped in to help. These beautiful puppies and dogs arrived at Lake Haven on March 23, 2013. All were medicated, bathed, fed and placed in foster care. Updates will be provided as soon as we get them from each foster family.Foster Update: Tallie is very very affectionate and just a little "snuggle bunny" as her foster moms says. She is outgoing and loves being outside. She is great with kids and dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tallie, a Newaygo Jack Russell Terrier/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Australian Shepherd for sale in Newaygo, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Newaygo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newaygo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newaygo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newaygo paves the way for another one to be saved.
