My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Fassa’s Friend, Layla. 5-4-13: UPDATE- Though we were originally told that Layla may be afraid of large dogs, she is quickly overcoming that fear. She has been walked several times past multiple large dogs with no problem. She has also been kenneled next to a large dog without any problem. Infact, her tail continues to wag! It is very possible from what has been observed, that Layla will be just fine with a larger dog that is calm. In summary, Layla is very good with small dogs as well as cats. She's lived with both for the past 4 months. She is also fine with young teens...No small children please! If you'd like to meet Layla, please complete an Adoption Application found on our website: www.fassasfriendsboxerrescue.com, under the Adoption Tab. If you've been pre-approved, simply email us at fassasfriends@gmail.com.

UPDATE 4/18: Layla is now living and has lived for the past several months, with small dogs. She is perfectly fine with them. She is housebroken, current on vaccines and is heart worm negative! Layla is in URGENT need of a foster home. Her current family's landlord has stated Layla needs to be moved by 4/21! Layla was very anxious when tested with a large breed dog. Due to the urgency with which she has to move, we prefer Layla be fostered in a home with either small dogs or as an only dog.

Please meet Fassa's Friend, Layla. Layla is a strikingly beautiful, purebred Boxer. Layla's story is quite sad. Four months ago, Layla's original owner passed away. Family members were then going to take her to the shelter. A man that the family knew heard of this, and stepped in to help Layla. Because Layla is 6 years old, he feared that she would be passed over in a shelter as younger dogs are generally adopted before more mature dogs. He now seeks to find a great home for Layla. Having had her for a few months, he knows that Layla would benefit by having a fenced in yard as she likes to run and play. Also, she would likely be happiest in a calm environment.

Layla weighs roughly 55 lbs. She is fawn with a black mask, docked tail and natural ears. She pulls slightly now and then when on leash. She doesn't appear to enjoy the company of dogs her size or larger. It is not known if Layla had been previously exposed to children and therefore we think a home without small kids would be best for her. Layla would thrive in a stable environment where someone is home to give her the time and exercise she needs. Layla would benefit by a fenced in yard where she can exercise and play ball (which she loves to do). She also enjoys just spending time with her people relaxing. A retiree or retired couple would also be a perfect match for Layla.

Layla is a great girl that needs the time and attention a great home would give her. IIf you're not a match for Layla but know someone that may be, please feel free to share her bio. Thank you for your support!
