Rosie (foster care)'s Story...
Rosie is a super affectionate, laid-back girl who loves nothing more than snuggling up with her favorite human and snoozing the day away…preferably in a nice sunny spot. When she’s not busy snoozing, this goofy girl will keep you laughing with her silly happy dances, plentiful kisses, and ridiculous ears. She is approximately 1-2 years old and is already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

Rosie is currently living in foster care with two doggy siblings and a cat, so could live in a home with other animals again. She currently lives happily with other dogs (a laid back/goofball male and a sometimes cranky female), however she would do best in a home with a dog that tolerates her silliness/pushy play style and a family willing and able to do sloooow introductions. She is extremely well behaved around our cat (who is generally not a fan of dogs)…after a few cursory sniffs/licks, she lost interest and has ignored her ever since.

While in foster care, she has been working on basic manners like “sit”, “leave it”, “off” and “down”, how to walk nicely on a leash, and that all potty breaks should be outside. She is very eager to please and loooves treats, so continuing her training will be a breeze! Rosie is a pretty low-maintenance lady – she is happy with one good walk a day, and is more interested in having a nice chew toy than a game of fetch. She would probably do best in a relaxed home with older children since she appreciates having a quieter environment, however she has done well with younger children she has met at events. She is obviously a very unique looking dog, with a beautiful brindle coat and super expressive eyes, and gets compliments everywhere she goes!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosie (foster care), a Philadelphia Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
