Meow! My name is Wendy
I am already spayed, housetrained, a special needs pet, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Wendy's story isn't a happy one. She was an unwanted litter to an indoor/outdoor mommy. She was thrown out of her home when she was old enough to fend for herself, about 4 months old. Since she was unfixed, she ended up pregnant. I found her and was going to bring her home with me. A neighbor of my mother-in-law stepped up and said he would keep her and feed her and care for her. He'd always wanted a white cat. So everything was good. She delivered 4 healthy babies. Then the bad came to her again. (And I kick myself everyday for it). Once her babies were 4 weeks old, she was thrown out again. That's how I found her. Sitting outside the house yelling for her babies. It was the most heartbreaking scene. So I bundled her up in my coat (it was December) and off we went to my house. She had fleas, mastitis, and was withdrawn. She was nowhere near the kitten she was when I found her. Eventually, she started to come around. She slowly demanding attention. She craved it. Now Wendy is spayed (no more babies for her!), warm, and loved. She loves to be held and loved on. We believe she may have a slight hearing problem. She has to see you in order to understand you're talking to her. She does NOT like kittens. She actually goes to Petsmart on a leash and harness. She's not a fan of walking on it, but she's ok to lounge around in it. Wendy wants a family to love her. She wants to belong. Can you be her finally ever after?

Imagine walking into a parking lot to find a boxful of tiny kittens—kittens that are only about two weeks old. They’re shivering from the cold, their box is full of mold, and they are starving. These are now the Transformers—nine little kittens who dreamed of their own family.
For the next 3 months, it became our goal to get them up on their feet so that they could find their foreer homes. Round the clock feedings, bath times, and sleepless nights became our life. These nine little rugrats have stolen all of our hearts, as I’m sure they will yours. Help us continue to be able to help our animals find that perfect home.
Yup. We’re a cat sanctuary. And now we’ve gone to the dogs!! It started with a post on Facebook. Horrifying pictures of a shelter in rural Kentucky. The treatment of these animals was inhumane. We went down to assist another rescue in pulling as many babies to safety as we could. There were 60+ dogs and puppies in the kennels when we arrived. Between all the rescues, 29 were saved. I couldn’t leave empty handed, so we pulled 4 puppies. Then we found momma who had been labeled “vicious.” We fought for her until she was granted freedom. On her freedom ride, 3 others hitched a ride to safety. We’ve noticed the need is not just species specific. We’re opening our doors to all species in need.
Our adoption process is simple. You fill out the application, tell us who you are interested in, then we go from there. Sometimes, certain animals may not fit into a situation. And we'll let you know. We want the best fit for your family. So let's get started.
Our adoption fee for cats is $75, $200 for dogs. This includes up-to-date vaccines, de-fleaed, dewormed, spay/neuter, and microchipping.
