Fiona's Story...
Hi There – My name is Fiona, but you can call me FiFi if you’d like – When the nice lady at the rescue saved me, she named me Fiona after Shrek’s wife, because she said I deserved to be treated like a princess. When I got to the rescue, I must admit, I was definitely not the pretty princess I am now.

I’ve had a rough life and am now learning how to be a dog. All I needed was a little bit of love and the chance to feel safe. I’ve come a long way baby! You see, I spent the first 8 years of my life in a crate having babies, lots of them. While I do miss them, I have to tell you that it’s so nice to be warm, have a comfy dog bed to sleep on, and most importantly, feel loved.

My foster mom has been giving me lots of attention and encouragement and because of her TLC I have blossomed into a smart, happy little girl. I am very proud to say that I have learned to sit and am very eager to learn more. If I lived with you, would you have these things called treats? Just checking, because they’re the highlight of my day!

Considering that I had never even seen stairs before I got to my foster palace, it’s no wonder that I’m still not sure about them and won’t attempt doing up or down as of yet. Sometime I get scared of the dark too, but one flick of a switch so I can see you, and I have no problem running down the hall. Perhaps if you adopt me, we could get a Scooby Doo night light?

I love my play time and get along very well with other dogs and am now fast friends with doggies in my neighborhood. Please know if you give me my share of attention, I will reward you with little Weim kisses. I like to have a lady in the house and it’s not that I have anything against men, it’s just that I really enjoy having “girl time” and my foster mom understands if have an accidental piddle now and then. I would be best in a home with a mom or dad who either works from home, or works part time. So, just to recap: no crates, few stairs, another dog so we can keep each other company, patience, a few night lights and in return I will reward you with unconditional love and gratitude.
I know it’s a tall order, but I am really, really hoping to hear from you soon,

Princess Fiona

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Grand Haven Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in Grand Haven, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in Grand Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
