Shirley's Story...

Hello! When her owner no longer found Shirley useful for breeding, she was dumped in a small rural Pennsylvania shelter. Shirley is a very good girl who is completely housetrained and has very good house manners. She is blind due to inoperable cataracts and has had 3 dental extractions. Like the rest of her canine buddies, Shirley loves to go out in the backyard and roam around with her foster mom. Her blindness doesn’t limit her enjoyment of the out-of-doors at all. And, when she’s ready, Shirley knows how to get back to the house and through the doggy door on her own.

This is a sweet, smart little girl. Actually she’s 23 pounds of sheer love! With attention to her health needs and time in the first loving home she’s likely ever had, Shirley is happy and thriving. She’s ready for a family with lots of time to dote on her. Plan to meet her with a spiffy collar and leash in hand. Her infectious spirit will win you over quickly and she’ll be sleeping at your feet before you know it………:)).
So, visit our website and complete an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shirley, a Richmond Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
