Gary's Story...
Gary - Handsome Lab Mix Puppy looking for his Forever Home!
Meet Gary! He is an adorable ~10 week old lab(?) mix puppy, currently weighing in at 13 lbs. He's likely going to be a big boy when full grown. He was rescued by Operation Paws for Homes from a high-kill, rural North Carolina shelter. Gary is a curious, yet cautious, little guy as he's trying to find his place in this new, safe world. He's a playful puppy that also enjoys a good, long nap and rest time. He is currently being fostered in Resiterstown, MD.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gary, a Frederick Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Frederick, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Frederick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frederick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frederick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frederick paves the way for another one to be saved.
