Rainner's Story...
Sorry that I haven't gotten this to you sooner. Rainer's Bio: Hey there, I'm Rainer and I am a handsome guy aren't I? But honestly, I am WAY more than just a pretty face! I have lots of foster buddies who think that I am pretty smart too. I don't know quite how to judge that, but I do love attention and my girl foster buddy calls me an "Attention Hog"...really, I just want to be praised and hugged and petted, so I try really hard to please my foster friends. I know how to sit and wait, yet my girl foster bud seems to think that my consistency is a bit weak on actually performing these tasks. I am young, between 1-1.5 yrs and as a puppy ,I still do puppy stuff, like getting overly excited and jumping up and counter surfing and an occasionally mouthing issue. I have learned to do the Agility tunnel and jumps and I love doing them because they are fun and they make my boy and girl buddies laugh and hug me and tell me what a good boy that I am!!! Don't you just love the sounds humans make when they laugh???? One of my foster buddies is a real life trainer and he thinks I am smart too, he also thinks that with my brains, my desire to please and love of people that I would make a great Therapy Dog. Then I would be able to give kisses and get petted (& maybe get a hug!) and even possibly give someone who is sad or lonely a reason to smile ...or even make that great sound...a laugh!!! Oh, that would make me so happy!! Now, if you think that you'd like to be my forever buddy/family this is what I really need: a calm and quiet home where my gentle nature can be nourished and my wild puppy stuff can be re-directed. I also need to have my brain challenged, so I need a person or family who would be really committed to Obedience Training Classes and faithful and dedicated in their follow-through. I need someone who will be firm with me as I am tired of running the whole show on my own. I am looking for someone to lean on that I can trust. And then, I also dream of getting my Canine Good Citizen title and possibly doing an Agility class which I could use to exercise my brain as well as my athletic body!!Right now I would truly flourish as an only dog as I learn to be a faithful companion!! Thanks for checking in on me...I am pretty sure that I love you, Rainer.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rainner, a Houston German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Houston, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
