Leona's Story...
My name is Leona and I'm about six months old. I started off life as a child of the streets but had the good fortune to be rescued by Pixie Project! I have been in foster care for a few months, learning how to live in a house and get along with others. I am still shy but I have come a long way and just keep on improving! I like to sleep in cozy places (like a closet), and will hang out on my foster mommy's bed with her to watch tv.. I will accept treats and chin scritches, just as long as things move a little slow. I love dangly toys and really go crazy for Da Bird. I am great with the litter box and scratching post, and I get along with other kitties. (Actually, my favorite kitty is my sister Roxanne. We cuddle all the time in the closet!) I have been around something called a chihuahua and, even though she's funny looking for a cat, she's pretty cool in my book. Because I am shy, I would do best in a home with older children. The great thing about us "delicate flowers" is that your patience is rewarded every time we accept your love. Do you have some love to spare? Fill out an application at pixieproject.org so we can schedule a meet and greet! I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $135.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leona, a Portland Ragdoll kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Ragdoll for sale in Portland, or seeking a Ragdoll kitten from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Ragdoll breeders who help with Ragdoll rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
