My name is Valentine, and, yes, I am a male! I was given this name because I was found on Valentine’s Day. My foster mom tried calling me Tiny, but Valentine fits me better because I am such a love and a snuggle bug.
I am a very handsome beagle/basset, or a Bagel! I am two years old, very affectionate, smart and playful. I have a beagle foster brother I like to wrestle with and we get along great. Because I’m part basset I’m a muscular guy weighing in at 33 ½ pounds. I love to take walks and use my nose to follow all those interesting smells on the ground. I’d love to get out for some more exercise—my foster mom works too much! I do behave myself very well while she’s away, though. I’ve had the run of the house almost from day one with my beagle brother and we do a lot of napping. I haven’t chewed anything or messed in the house. I even leave the trash alone! All pretty amazing for a two year old!
From my basset side, I have inherited quite a deep, loud bark. My mom jumped when she first heard it because she was only used to beagle barks. I’m not a noisy guy in the house—only if someone comes to the door. When I’m out for a walk with my brother and we see another dog on a leash I do let loose with one of those barks. I’m not being mean—I just want to play! Not everyone gets it, though. If they only knew me, they’d know I’m a lover, not a fighter.
If you ask to meet me, you will have a hard time going home without me because I’m so adorable and such a great boy! I will win your heart.
