Ryder's Story...
Ryder is a wonderful one and a half year old Catahoula mix looking for his forever home! He was rescued just before he was due to be euthanized at the shelter. Ryder is such a love, and just wants to be with you. At night time he snuggles- he LOVES to be snuggled with and falls asleep in your lap. He is most happy when he has you by his side, and quiets down with just your presence. He does not like to be left alone without doggie companions, so he would do best with at least one other dog in the home. He gets along great with his "pack" of female dogs. Based on his submissive nature, he would likely do well with males as well. He keeps himself active all day playing with his friends. He likes playing with toys, but only if the other dogs are playing with them! His favorite game is to take the frisbee and run with it so the other dogs have to chase him.

He is a fast learner and already knows sit, down, and shake! He will make a great dog to train with treat motivation. He is excellent on a leash and walks right by your side. He does great meeting strangers also. Ryder is young and energetic, so he often tries to communicate by being mouthy or using his paws. His foster is teaching him not to do this, and he is doing better. He has been taught not to jump up on people and lick their face as well. He is crate trained, but is still being potty trained. Ryder has a lot of energy, and should go to an active family or someone with a large property. He should not be with cats, as he is too interested in them.

Ryder would do best in a home that can give him lots of attention and activity. His adoption fee is $200 and covers his neuter and vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ryder, a Livermore Catahoula Leopard Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog for sale in Livermore, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog dog from a breeder in Livermore.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Livermore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Livermore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Livermore paves the way for another one to be saved.
