Nelly's Story...
Nelly is a beautiful 8 month old chocolate Lab/Hound mix who will be a very big girl when she is full grown (we're guessing maybe 80-90 lbs). She knows sit and shake (as you can see in her pictures) and comes when called. Nelly is a very sweet girl who loves to play and is housebroken. She was left alone for five hours on her 2nd day in foster care and was an absolutely perfect young lady! Although she is not a jumper, she should not go to a home with very small children because there is a very good chance that as big as she is, she would accidentally knock them down.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Mort at mberlin@kc.rr.com or by calling 913-649-2920 after six o'clock to find out when and where you can meet NELLY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nelly, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
