Cliff's Story...
Estimated Age: 1 year + Estimated Weight: 15 pounds Temperament: Loves to be near you. Cliff is active and loves to go to the dog park and exercise everyday. When outside he does love to play and roll around in the grass. He's not a barker, even when people walk by and the screen door is open. He just looks. Crate or Housetrained?: Starting to learn crate training very quickly. Good with other dogs or cats?: Great will all other animals Good with kids?: Great with kids. Short Bio from his foster: Cliff just loves to be loved. If you're busy doing something you only need to tell him once it's not the time to play and he'll happily go lie in his bed and watch whatever you're doing from there. He has a healthy appetite, when he gets put in his crate to sleep he lays down right away without much fuss at all. The longest we've left him alone so far in the crate was 7 hrs and he did great. I found that leaving music on or tv so he doesn't fee so alone helps a lot. He's not really into treats unless they're very soft. No busy bones or anything like that. He doesn't play with his squeaky toys yet but he loves to sleep with them. As long as you're around he's very happy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cliff, a San Antonio Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
