Sammy's Story...
Hi, my name is Sammy. I am a 1-1/2 year old male Chihuahua mix. I weigh 13-lbs. I have all of my shots and have been neutered. My foster mom rescued me from a life of being tied up to a pole outside where I didn’t interact with anyone. I spent most of my young life there. My foster mom has two small dogs and I am adjusting quite well to being around other dogs. I’m trained to go outside and sleep in my crate at night. I am a little skittish around men at first but once I get to know them I am fine. I have a lot of energy and just want someone to give me a little attention and a permanent home. I adjust to new situations quite well.

If you would like more info or would like to adopt Sammy please fill out an application at and email it in.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a San Diego Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
