Andy's Story...
If you are interested in viewing or adopting this kitty, please go to Click Here and fill out an application.

Andy is an amazingly loving cat, a good companion and a very gentle soul who has been through some traumatic times, so he would be best suited to a peaceful, quiet home. He doesn't mind other cats, dogs or the occasional visit by a child, but overall needs a calm environment.

Andy is still a bit timid and is looking for a special person to trust completely. He has come a long way since going into his foster home, and is very affectionate and loving to his foster mum.

Andy is usually very quiet, but if you talk to him he will answer you with little chirps and murmurs just as though he was having a conversation. He likes to sit beside you, loves having his belly rubbed and enjoys a bit of a pet, but when he's done he will move just out of reach while keeping you in his company.

He appears to be black, but when the sun shines on him you can see that he is actually a very unusual and beautiful, rich, mahogany brown colour.

Andy is a well-behaved boy who never scratches at the furniture, uses his litter box without fail, and loves to sit at the window watching the world go by. He would be a wonderful companion and great addition to your home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Andy, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
