Jemma's Story...
Hey everyone, I'm Jemma! I'm a staffie mix that is about 5-6 years old, but that doesn't slow me down one bit! I am an active dog that also thoroughly enjoys hanging out on the couch or napping with my people. I'm about 40 lbs and won't get any bigger. Foster mom says I'm a complete love bug!

I absolutely LOVE people, especially children of all ages, but I am really not a fan of kitties. I need to be either the only dog in the house or be with a young submissive dog because I'm the queen bee! and can be kind of bossy. I am potty and crate trained. My foster mom calls me a hoarder because I steal blankies and put them in my kennel. I have a great collection of them in there now!

Foster mom says she can't stress enough how much I love kids and adults and I just want to please you and be the center of attention. If you want to meet me or get more info please email my foster mom at aliciaaff@yahoo.com or fill our an adoption application on our website at: www.forgottendogs.org/adoption_application Thanks!

Jemma's adoption fee is $125.

About Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project November of 2011 to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 500 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees are $150 for puppies up to 2 years old (plus an additional $75 deposit on those that are too young for spay/neuter), $125 for adult dogs ages 2 and older. We have an online application and a contract and all dogs/puppies are either spayed/neutered prior to adoption, if old enough, or arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
