My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LUKE HAS BEEN SELECTED TO BE ONE OF OUR PRISON DOGS. HE WILL SPEND 8-12 WEEKS TRAINING IN OBEDIENCE, BASIC COMMANDS, PROPER LEASH WALKING AND MANNERS AT THE GRAFTON CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION. HE STARTED HIS TRAINING AT THE PRISON ON APRIL 10, 2013. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING LUKE, ADOPTION APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED. THEY CAN BE DOWNLOADED AT www.friendshipapl.org, BUT MUST BE HAND DELIVERED TO THE SHELTER. ANY QUESTIONS CALL 440-322-4321.

Luke is a very handsome dog with a unique look! We're guessing Catahoula/Lab mix but he's got a short tail like an Aussie and a little bit of a Great Dane or Boxer look to his face. If anyone could use a DNA test, it's Luke! He's about 9-10 months old and currently about 45-50 pounds but still growing. Luke spent most of his puppyhood at a dog shelter so the big wide world is a new experience to him. He's a little timid in new situations but is learning more and more everyday. He loves playing with other dogs so a home with another playful young dog to show him the ropes would be ideal for Luke. He does well in his crate but will probably need a little work on house training. With some patience and consistency and the help of another dog to follow, he's sure to be a quick study. Once a Prison Graduate, he'll be the perfect family pet.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.
