Elton's Story...
I am a very friendly, 2-year-old, male, Maine-coon-mix with the biggest paws ever. I simply adore people and love to be the center of attention. I was outside on my own, with extremely matted fur, when I was trapped. Someone watched me go into the trap but before they could get to me, a huge raccoon started to attack the trap trying to get to the food that had attracted me to it. I was scared! The people managed to get the raccoon away from me and took me to the Vet to get fixed and to free my fur from all of the painful mats. I am simply a love. I like to be picked up and carrier around like a baby, I am very playful, I great everyone coming in the door, and I love to be petted. I would be a great companion for very small children, for I am wonderfully gentle and patient. Come meet me and fall in love!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elton, a Medford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Medford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Medford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Medford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Medford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Medford paves the way for another one to be saved.
