Thomas's Story...
Thomas is a very handsome young boy who was found as a stray by a 4Paws volunteer. He was so happy to be in a warm place again, getting lots of food and love.

Thomas loves being around people. He "helps" me with the computer, laying on my lap, at my feet, or on my papers and key board. He also enjoys jumping into my lap for a cuddle. Or rolling on his back for a tummy rub - talking to you if you don't notice him right away.

Thomas is a playful boy. Chasing after the feather toy. He is OK around other friendly cats, but would be fine being adopted as an only cat as long as you give him a lot of attention. Older children would be be fine and probably friendly dogs. He has perfect litter box manners.

Please give this handsome boy a cozy place where he will be loved.

Thomas is approximately 1 1/2 to 2 years old. He has tested negative for FELV/FIV, is neutered, and is current on his distemper and rabies vaccines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thomas, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
