Penny R. Cade's Story...
Penny R. Cade is yet another of the hoarding dogs taken to the
farm-show complex earlier this year. Penny is very tiny and is a real cuddler after she gets to know you. Although quite busy outside when she's full of chihuahua vinegar (see video below), she would love to have a lap to curl up in and a home to call her own. Penny's foster mom says, "this beautiful little red head is very lovable, cuddly and sweet, but can have a bit of an attitude at times, so she will need a firm leader. She actually jumps into the shower with me, and would love to drink the soapy water and eat the soap if I would let her!" Like any true Chihuahua, Penny loves to burrow, so, if you can't find her, be careful where you sit because she will crawl under a throw on the sofa, a comforter on the bed, or anything else she can get under to take a nap. She gives loads of kisses and comes when you call her, and enjoys a good lap-sitting session. She loves to play with a ball and toys and have her belly rubbed, and she has even learned to jump over the agility bars that her foster mom has set up for her. Penny is a bit shy and might nip if she is afraid, but she is doing much better
now that she is out of the hoarding situation. In short, if you want a quirky love bug, Penny is the dog for you. Please go to and complete an adoption application today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny R. Cade, a Mt Gretna Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mt Gretna, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mt Gretna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt Gretna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt Gretna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt Gretna paves the way for another one to be saved.
