My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxanne is a one-of-a-kind dog! She looks like no other dog I have seen before. She has a long body with short little legs like a corgi, and one of here ears goes out while the other goes down. She is really cute! She is also a good girl who is crate-trained, house-trained and not destructive at all! Roxanne was picked up as a stray and spent a month in the county shelter over the holidays. She then came down with a cold and was placed on the list to be euthanized because she was sick. :( We rescued her on January 4, 2013. When we got her home, we noticed that she was pitifully thin, but her belly was big. Sure enough two weeks later she had puppies! Poor girl had spent half of her pregnancy in the shelter with no extra food! In the beginning Roxanne was pretty independent and aloof. Since her puppies have gotten older and are starting to be adopted, she is really coming out of her shell. She plays with the other dogs and comes up to people to be petted. She will jump up next to us on the furniture, but jumps right back down after just a few minutes. She is really low-maintenance! She gets along with all of the dogs. She does chase out two small children though when they are noisy and rambunctious. She would probably do better in an adult-only home or with older children. We get the feeling that Roxanne likely had a hard life before she came here, and that maybe people weren't always very nice to her. We can tell that she really wants to be loved, but she needs some time to learn to trust. Roxanne is estimated to be about 3 years old, and she is 28 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, licensed and up-to-date on rabies and DAPP vaccinations. Roxanne's adoption fee is $150. Please give this sweet girl a home and show her the kindness she deserves!
