Vadar's Story...
Hi my name is Vadar. I am a 3 year 4 month old Flat Coated Retriever (I'll tell you a secret - I'm like a golden retriever only black) who is looking for my forever home. My story is a good lesson to everyone about the seriousness of you humans handing over your beloved pets to friends. You see, I was actually adopted as a puppy by a loving family when I was roughly 8 weeks old. My original family took great care of me and loved me to death. My family was going through tough times and could no longer take care of me and gave me to a friend who wanted to raise me as there companion and promised to take good care of me. I was 9 months old at the time and even though my original loving family thought the friend would give me a good home, the friend ended up surrendering me to the Jacksonville ACPS without even letting my original family know. I was pretty scared and lonely at the Jax ACPS as I loved my family and missed my humans. Then to my surprise Paws 4 Humanity Inc came to my rescue as they came to visit me and then took me for a ride down to Orange Park, FL where I am now living with my foster family. My foster mom is a huge Golden Retriever fan and loves me like one of her own.

If I say so myself I am a handsome guy that gives great hugs and loves to play a game of fetch or just sit with and have some one on one quality time with my humans. When Paws 4 Humanity Inc rescued me I was very thin, very much underweight and had some issues with my shiny silky coat in the rear. Now that I am on great dog food and have steady meals coming my way I have filled in nicely, have a great shiny coat and am a healthy boy who is now looking for my forever home.

And if you wonder how I got the name Vadar my original family somehow found out that I was pulled by Paws 4 Humanity Inc from the Jax ACPS shelter and my great first mom gave Paws 4 Humanity Inc President a call and talked to her at some length about me. That's when Paws 4 Humanity Inc found out that my name was really Vadar ( even though I am a lot sweeter than Darth Vadar in the movie), and really liked my name and decided to keep my original name. I am a smart cookie ( so my foster mom says - whatever that means) and know my obedience commands, come, sit, down, stay and heal up. I am great with kids and other dogs and am an absolute love muffin.

Well now it is time to find my forever home so if you are interested in meeting yours truly, the one and only flat coated retriever named Vadar please contact Paws 4 Humanity Inc at 904 771-9516 or shoot an email request to to request adoption application which is the first step in their adoption process. Once your adoption application is approved you will then be able to meet me and discover for yourself just what a handsome, stunningly good looking and lovable guy that I really am. My charming personality, handsome good looks and intelligence as well as my ability to give great hugs will undoubtedly pull at your heartstrings where you can't help but want to take me home forever! See you soon! Love and kisses and hugs! - Vadar.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vadar, a Jacksonville Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
