Penny's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with cats.

Penny's Story...
Penny is a 5 year-old orange tabby with short hair and pale green eyes. She is unusual in that only about 20% of orange tabbies are female. This kitty was very well taken care of by her former owners; she is healthy and FIV/FELV negative.

Penny was left at the gate of Yavapai Humane Society with another cat in a carrier, with a long note attached from the owner’s daughter. The note explained that these were her mother's cats, her mom had just recently died, and she herself was going into the hospital could no longer care for them.

Penny enjoys affection, mainly on her terms. She will welcome you warmly as you first meet, but she may tell you in a minute or two that she’s had enough. The more she gets to know people, the more willing she is to share her friendship. If you have the patience to give a lonely kitty a loving, safe environment, she’ll pay you back with loving attention when she gets settled in.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Gilbert Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
