My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sniffy - Sniffy is a young beagle who was found and after an exhaustive search for owners is now looking for a new home. He is cute and very sweet. He will try to climb the fence and get into mischief. He seems to prefer men rather than women. Not sure about that but is ok with a man handling his food bowl and not so much his foster mom. He just needs some training we imagine and is great with other dogs. Sniffy will be vaccinated and neutered prior to adoption. Here are some comments about Sniffy from his foster about how he is doing since arriving at Beagle Buddies. He is awfully cute and turning into a really nice little guy.

"Since Sniffy has been with us, he has become accustomed to being in a crate, adhering to a daily schedule and walking on a leash. He will allow my husband to interfere with his food bowl, as he displays a lot of respect for my husband. In fact, very recently, Sniffy has started to reveal his affectionate side toward humans. Previously, he was exclusively focused on tracking scents (working) and playing with other dogs.

When he first arrived, Sniffy peed out of his crate once or twice within the first couple of days. He learned quickly and hasn't peed inside the house since. He doesn't run freely inside our home, but goes outside for 30 minutes 4-5 daily. I believe that Sniffy (ideally) deserves a family that understands he is handsome, young, healthy, determined and stubborn, but also trainable and interested in pleasing his handler. Sniffy would benefit from further obedience training, house training and patient, committed handlers. Besides coming on a little too strong initially, Sniffy has gotten along really well with our 20 lb. female terrier mix and our 60 lb. male pit bull (who tends to dislike other male dogs). Sniffy has not been tested around cats or children, as far as we know."

Contact Mindy at mmiller@beaglebuddies.org to obtain an application. Submit the application form and we will schedule a time to meet the pet. If interested in adopting we require a home visit and an adoption agreement with a fee. Beagles over 5 years of age have an adoption of $100 and if younger than 5 years the fee is $125. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, are up to date on vaccinations, and a copy of vet records is provided upon adoption to set up a file at your vet. We supply collar, temporary ID tag until you can use till you get one, and leash. All beagles are micro-chipped as well.
