Coal's Story...
Meet Coal, a 9 week old lab mix who currently weighs 16 pounds. Coal and his siblings were born in a deserted mine shaft in Kentucky. Someone saw them and called a local rescue group, whose volunteers crawled through mud and water to bring the pups out. The rescue group even got a picture of their mom, who looks like a yellow lab.

Coal is the biggest of the litter, an outgoing pup who just loves attention. Like his siblings, he is eager for human attention and affection and very well socialized. Coal is paper-trained and on his way to being house-broken.

From the looks of his paws Coal will be a large dog when fully grown, but of course we don't know for sure. Since he's so young, Coal needs a family where someone is home part or all day to finish his potty-training as well as keep him exercised and socialized.

You can meet Coal at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.

Coal's adoption fee of $335 includes: vet exam, DHAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, flea & tick preventative, deworming, microchip and neuter.
