Diamond's Story...
Meet Diamond, a 9 week old lab mix who currently weighs 8 pounds. Diamond and her siblings were born in a deserted mine shaft in Kentucky. Someone saw them and called a local rescue group, whose volunteers crawled through mud and water to bring the pups out. The rescue group even got a picture of their mom, who looks like a yellow lab.

Diamond had mange, which was diagnosed and treated prior to coming to Adopt a Pet. This explains her rather bedraggled appearance. Her overall health is fine, and like her siblings she is eager for human attention and affection. Her foster mom tells us that Diamond is a sweet little girl who likes to snuggle and is well on her way to being house-trained.

Diamond is much smaller than her brothers, but we can't say for sure how big she will be when fully grown. So she needs to be adopted by someone willing to take pot-luck in terms of her breed and size. Since she's so young, Diamond needs a family where someone is home part or all day to finish her potty-training as well as keep her exercised and socialized.

Diamond's adoption fee of $335 includes: vet exam, DHAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, flea & tick preventative, deworming, microchip and spay.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diamond, a Mt. Prospect Labrador Retriever/Airedale Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Airedale Terrier for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Airedale Terrier puppy from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Airedale Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Airedale Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
