My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Look at this gorgeous and most beautiful, 7 year old, 80 lb purebred yellow boy whose owner surrendered him to a high kill shelter because of the owner’s drug addiction. His name is Duke and Duke really got lucky that day. When Duke came to Lucky Lab Rescue he was heartworm positive, but he has received his heartworm treatment and has been given a clean bill of health. Duke is described as being a happy lab that loves to play and loves people. His temperament is perfect and would do great with someone he could spend most of the day with. Duke gets along wonderfully with everyone and has a great time playing with his canine buddies. His favorite thing is playing fetch with his kong and when he is called, he will go get his kong and come running with it. Duke knows the sit command, is house trained and crate trained, does not jump on people and does pretty good on the leash. He does need just a little work in the leash department, but loves to go for long walks with his people. Words from his foster parent - “Duke is a perfect family dog. He loves spending as much time as possible with people. He is very obedient and is also crate trained. Someone will be extremely lucky to get this dog. Someone dedicated a lot of time to him in his younger years. He wants nothing more than to please his master.” He would make a wonderful addition to any family and be the most devoted companion.
Duke is neutered, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, heartworm negative and micro-chipped. He has been kept on flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative. If you would be interested in learning more about Duke and how he would fit into your family, please indicate him on the online application.
