Barbie's Story...
Barbie is the sweetest and prettiest yellow girl ever. She is approximately one year old and on the smaller to average size for a female weighing in at 50 pounds. She is in an awesome foster home now with several canine siblings and a five year old little girl to romp and play with and is doing great with everyone. Barbie’s foster parents love her and say she is a very happy girl who always has a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face and is the best snuggler ever. She loves everyone she meets and takes treats very gently. Barbie is also very smart and would benefit greatly from some obedience training classes as she is still a young girl. She loves going for walks and meeting people and is a real social butterfly. She does pull some on the leash and is working very hard to do better, but gosh, she just gets so excited at all the new things there are to see. Barbie would be considered medium energy for her age. And did we mention the butt wiggles and the tail wags. Barbie would do great in any family situation and could be cat tested if necessary.
Barbie is up to date on all her shots including rabies, spayed, and kept on heartworm and flea medication. She is also housetrained and crate trained. If you would like to make this sweet girl a part of your family, please fill out an online application and indicate Barbie in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barbie, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
