Van Halen's Story...
Van Halen is an affectionate, friendly and outgoing boy! He loves to be cuddled and is very mellow and easy to please. He is ultra gentle making him a great family pet for those with children. He would be happy curled up on the couch next to you while you watch tv or snuggled up next to you at night. He makes a wonderful bed warmer when the nights get chilly.

Van Halen got his “cool” name because he is a Turkish Van mix. He is approximately 7 years old, although he looks much younger than that.

Van Halen was rescued from a neglectful situation when his previous owner dumped him outside to fend for himself. During that time he sustained an injury to his eye when another cat attacked him, resulting in vision loss in that eye. He has been checked out by an eye doctor and the eye does not cause him any pain

Van Halen is available for adoption to homes with other friendly cats or available as a single cat. We do not know how he would do around dogs.

He is neutered, has tested negative for FIV & Feline Leukemia and is up to date on vaccinations.

He is on prescription food to prevent urinary crystals.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Van Halen, a Merrifield Turkish Van cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Turkish Van for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Turkish Van cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Turkish Van breeders who help with Turkish Van rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
