Anyone with German Shepherd experience out there looking for a wonderful companion? Come meet Trixie and you won't be sorry. She is a loving, protective, submissive, yet stubborn purebred GSD. She can be very intense upon first meeting new doggies, especially face-to-face. Once she gets to know them, she is a great companion to them too. Trixie's middle name is Houdini as she is the World Greatest Escape Artist. She can rip out of a metal crate or dog kennel/run in less than 15 min., with no damage to her mouth. Yes, she still also has all of her teeth. This being said she will need a 6' WOOD fence. Invisible fencing will not contain her. She also has a high prey drive and thinks all "small" living creatures are fair game...cats, squirrels, birds and small dogs.
Being a GSD she will protect you, whether you feel you need protection or not. She doesn't bark, except to warn you of someone at the door or in the yard. Her favorite place to sit during the day is in front of the window to "watch" outside happenings. She loves to sleep with her human but learned quickly that it is not allowed. Her previous life was not one any dog should have to go through. We believe she was abused as well as used only as a breeder, never as the family's pet. She has come such a long way in the time she's been in her current home. Her favorite thing from humans (beside food) is to be petted and loved on. If you do not give her the attention quick enough her paw will grab your arm until you do at least pet her. She does have separation anxiety which is improving and she has less and less instances since learning "I'll be back".
