Sheldon's Story...
Shelon is calm, quiet, and sweet sweet sweet! This sweet boy came to us via a kill shelter that decided to euthanize with very little notice. Thanks to Rescue Me Ohio Sheldon and 6 others were pulled from the shelter and placed into boarding. FIDO's Rescue and Rehabilitation agreed to take one of the dogs and give them a new lease on life.
Sheldon is around 3 years old, already housebroken and crate trained, Sheldon is learning basic commands but atleast knows sit for a treat. He is good on a leash and good with cats and dogs.
Sheldon is chipped, neutered, UTD on all shots, HW neg, and fully vetted. His adoption fee is $200. Please fill out an application at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sheldon, a Lancaster Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
