Bonded Pair Lola & Roxy Need home by end of april
Lola and Roxy are sisters and we have had them since they were six months old, they are about 8 or 9 years old now. They have lived their lives outdoors since they are so large.St. Bernard mixes
Lola weighs about 120-125 lbs. and Roxy weighs about 140 lbs. They are showing signs of age because it takes them longer to get up because of their hips but, once they get up and going they are fine.
Roxy is a lover, she lives for food first and foremost, but you must not forget the belly rubs. She crinkles her nose when you shake your finger at her and tell her no, it's really very funny. In the summer months they love to get wet. You could stand there all day and shower her with the hose and she wouldn't budge. We have a kiddy pool for the girls so they cool off in the summer whenever they want. She loves spending the day sleeping in her doghouse. The doghouse will go with whomever takes them as she would be lost without it, it's her blankie, if you will. Lol
Lola is the alpha dog of the two. Lola likes to be scratched right at the top of her tail on her back haunches, that is her favorite spot. She will sometimes want her belly scratched, but not as often as Roxy. Lola doesn't like to be showered with the hose like Roxy does. I have noticed that it makes her skin contract and it really bothers her when it does. She will only let you soak her with the hose for a short time and the water has to be real soft. She is better off getting in the kiddy pool.
The girls are still real playful with one another. Due to their size, I wouldn't recommend them going to a family with little kids because they have knocked Don down in their rough playing with one another. They would never bite anyone, they are just so big. They haven't been socialized with other dogs, but have done every well being around Zoey, but we have kept them separated by the fence, but they have been real gentle and have shown no aggression.
Roxy is the one in Don's lap.
