3 Year Old Brindle Pit Mix
Liberty – Brindle Pit Bull – 3 years old – Female
This gorgeous “little” girl came to us when a very nice woman brought her home from a dog park where she had been dumped! She lived in the dog park for two weeks, all the regular visitors there brought her food and wondered where her family was – they could not believe that someone would dump such a beautiful sweet girl. Finally someone called County Animal Control and when one of the women in the park saw the truck she took Liberty home with her. Liberty lived for six weeks with this family while they tried to find a place for her to go – a safe place. During those six weeks we learned she LOVES children of all ages (she lived with six – infant to 16 year old) and the biggest danger she presents to them is a wicked fast wagging tail that never stops and an even faster big kissing tongue! She also lived with another pit bull (male) and four small dogs. Finally we had space to take her into rescue and she was placed with a foster family. She is a delight to have around as she is super cuddly and wants to be a lap dog – all 66 pounds of her and she can’t get enough attention. She is house trained, doggie door trained and walks well on a leash. She also runs great on a leash and will keep whatever pace is needed to stay next to her foster dad. This little girl also loves to sleep in bed with her foster parents (when invited) and is a good pillow for the young kids in the house while they’re watching TV. Liberty is well behaved and obedient but will still need a person or family that is a strong leader and knows this breed. She is currently living with four other dogs and does well but can be very bossy so we feel she would do best in a home with a non-dominant large male dog or as a single dog. Liberty loves to go for car rides and enjoys riding along with her foster mom while she does errands. If you are looking for a companion with a big smile who will always be happy to see you, take a look at this beautiful little girl and consider making her part of your family. Rescue Group Info...
Little Rascals Rescue is a foster based 501c3 non profit animal rescue founded on the belief that a few caring people can make a difference in many animals lives. In Maricopa county alone 900 animals are euthanized a week. That number is way too high and through the effort of rescue groups like ourselves we believe we can make an impact on the lives of the many animals being euthanized daily. We live by the mantra 1 adopted and 2 saved, meaning every time someone adopts an animal from us we go pick up another off the euthanasia list, so thats 2 lives you save by adopting one animal. Our group is dedicated to saving the animals other rescue groups just can't save, mainly the medical and behavioral cases. That doesn't mean we won't have plenty of highly adoptable animals also.
Adoption day every Sunday at Petco I17 & Happy Valley 2501 W. Happy Valley from 11am-6pm. We always have dogs, cats and lots of kittens to meet. Come out and see who's personality suits your family best. Or visit our website at www.littlerascalsrescue.com for animals, stories, pictures, up coming events or just to see whats new.
