Abby's Story...
FOSTER LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID

Abby is another senior who was surrender to a shelter by her owners after 10 years; Fuzzy Pawz hates to see seniors in the shelter so we placed her into our foster program. Our best guess is that Abby is a Retreiver/Lab mix – she weighs 62 lbs.

Abby is a very sweet dog and gets along great with dogs of all sizes. Even her foster sister, who is a little neurotic and was afraid that Abby was going to 'touch' her toys was no worry for Abby and became good friends in a short time. Abby is also very good with cats in her 1st home she lived with 2 and she is living with one in her current home and just ignores the cat – heck she’ll even let them eat out of her food dish while she is eating.

This girl is good with everyone she meets, Abby is calm and gentle. She is quiet and easy going. She will still play from time to time but is pretty low energy and just enjoys being near you. She was raised with children and did fine with them but has mellowed as she aged so probably would enjoy living in a house with kids older than 6.

Abby is housebroken, she lets you know when she wants out and if she isn't let in right away, she will bark; she prefers the comforts of inside. While Abby is crate trained she doesn’t really like it and really doesn’t need to be in a crate. She has beautiful house manners and is calm, easy going and well behaved. She sleeps on the floor on her own bed at night; she doesn't get on the furniture she is happy to lay by your feet or close by.

She loves to ride in the car, she jumps in and lays down. She loves to go for walks and does really well on a leash.

Abby is the perfect companion dog for most any household.

Abby is spayed, vaccinated and has an AVID microchip.

There is a $40 adoption fee for Abby

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Boise Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Boise, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
