Eleanor's Story...
Eleanor has all her vaccines, been tested negative for heart worm and even has a microchip! She is a sweet girl who still has her youthful energy at about 1 year of age she ready to find a home to spend her life with. Eleanor is trained on a gentle leader head halter. Gentle leaders are not a muzzle, the dog can still open their mouth to pant, drink water or catch a tennis ball. This gentle leader is used at our shelter to help train our dogs to walk on a leash with out pulling and is a great training tool that is included in our adoption of this pet! To meet Eleanor in person please stop by the shelter on Tuesday or Saturday during our normal business hours. Tuesday or Saturday doesn't work for you? To meet the animals any day of the week please call for an appointment and the staff will be happy to set you up with a date and time to visit us! To make an adoption appointment we require that you submit an adoption application for
pre-approval, to download an application please visit our website at www.chippewahumane.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Eleanor, a Chippewa Falls Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Chippewa Falls, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Chippewa Falls.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chippewa Falls already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chippewa Falls breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chippewa Falls paves the way for another one to be saved.
