Gretchen's Story...
Gretchen is about 3 yrs old (born 2009) and approx 6.5 lbs. She is one of the sweetest dogs our family has ever fostered. She loves to snuggle and often likes to be under the covers. She generally fears men, but is terrific with women. Gretchen gets along marvelously with the other fosters of the home and has learned how to play and have some fun. She is on daily phenobarbital medication for seizures - it is inexpensive and she takes them easily with a pill pocket. Her goal is to please her owner. She will be a great asset to her forever home. Please email Barb (at barbr39@msn.com) for information on how to adopt Gretchen.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gretchen, a Mesa Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
