James - Big Baby!'s Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

James - Big Baby!'s Story...
Meet adoptable James! He is a year-old neutered male orange and white cat who is healthy and housetrained and vaccinated. He, Leanne (adopted) and Felix, his siblings have been thriving in their loving foster home and get along with her other cats. They grew up around a dog and did fine. Tweens or teens would be fine.

They are brave and friendly, playful and cuddly. They love looking out the windows and love the laser pointer! They all get along so adopt one, two or all! Foster mom says: "James is a big boy but not overweight, he is the biggest baby of all. They are in great shape as I have a large house where they run up and down the stairs and chase each other constantly. They are so much fun to watch. Leanne and James both sleep with me at night, while Felix is busy hanging out with my cat Knucky. Felix likes to follow me around the house and will curl up on the couch next to me while I watch TV or knit. He loves to be stroked and will fall asleep. They all have very sweet and kind personalities, and are not demanding. It would be great for Felix to be adopted with either James or Leanne, but if that is not possible, they are young cats and will adjust. It is wonderful to adopt siblings, because they have a unique bond where they cuddle and groom each other, and are great company for each other. If they are adopted individually it is crucial they go to home to be buddies with another cat."
*Though our volunteers try their best, we cannot guarantee that any rescued animal will be a perfect match for each resident, child, or resident pet in every foster/forever home.

About Muskoka Animal Rescue Volunteer Group

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a volunteer-based, donation-only service that provides non-judgemental, supportive help for people who are surrendering their companion animals. We also provide support to people who are looking for a new furry addition to their family. We: -provide free advice and suggestions to people who are experiencing issues with their pets, including but not limited to behavioural issues, training advice, surrender help, and much more -spay/neuter education, advice and referrals -put ads up on and kijiji and around the community -screen potential new homes over the telephone by asking many in-depth questions -do a home visit to make sure the people are "as good as they sound on the phone" -contact their vet and do a vet check to make sure they get a good reference -provide transportation from the old home to the new home -get the old owners to sign a Surrender Form -get the new owners to sign an Adoption Agreement Form This is done on a donation-basis only and circumstances may vary based on the situation. We believe in the power of community, respect and inclusion. Our volunteers have over 10 years experience in the animal rescue field, have rescued hundreds of animals, have worked in the field and have College Diplomas in Animal Care Work. We are committed to helping people find homes for their pets because we care about our community and love animals. If you are someone who is surrendering their animal we know how hard it can be and we know you would want your pet to go to the right home, not a home where your pet will be subjected to neglect, cruelty and abuse.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As we are a rescue group, we don't have a shelter, just loving foster homes throughout Muskoka. Please contact us to make an appointment to see an animal.

Our Adoption Process...

Our process for adoptions are as follows: Step 1: telephone or in-person screening Step 2: Home visit Step 3: Vet check Step 4: Adoption!
