"Mulligan" means a second chance or a "do-over" and that's the promise we've made to this magnificent boy. Mulligan was the Saturday night surprise at the shelter when the director came in for evening checks: a gorgeous purebred Golden Retriever dumped in the holding pen. People had seen Mulligan all over the county for a couple of weeks, running along the highway -- another unwanted dog cruelly dumped with the owner's hope that he'd never find his way back home. How someone could not want a boy this magnificent is shocking. Mulligan is that all-around great guy who loves people and is admired by other dogs. He's calm and well-mannered, affectionate and very even-tempered. He's happy to play with anyone who invites him - - human or canine. He is as loving on the inside as he is stunning on the outside - - extremely friendly and considers everyone a friend. We think he's about 2 years old, he weighs between 50 - 60 pounds, and he's a healthy boy. We're looking for a very special home for Mulligan where he will be able to believe in "forever" again.
