Arrival story: This handsome dog’s time was running out at a rural shelter where he came in as a stray and we invited him into Waggin’ Tails.

Personality: Super friendly and affectionate towards people, Raleigh is going to make someone an excellent companion. He is still relatively young and likes to jump up for attention but that is easily redirected. Raleigh settles nicely and appears to know some commands, including Leave It. While he is new to us we can see what great potential that he has. We’ll post more about this stunning fella as we get to know him better.

Raleigh does well in the car and at the vet’s office. He is up-to-date on vaccines and is scheduled to be neutered on Wednesday, 4-10-2013 and will be available for adoption after that time.

Forever home: Raleigh has a medium energy level so he would enjoy a home with an active family willing to provide walks and mental stimulation to keep him occupied.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Raleigh, a Northville Catahoula Leopard Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog for sale in Northville, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog dog from a breeder in Northville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Northville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Northville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Northville paves the way for another one to be saved.
