Meghan's Story...
This sweet and beautiful little girl is Meghan. Meghan is about 5 to 6 months old and currently weighs in at about 25 lbs. Meghan somehow found herself in a nasty high kill shelter and luckily a volunteer stepped up for this girl and got her to safety. Meghan is now in an awesome foster home and enjoying the better things in life. She is being fostered with children and other dogs and is fitting in wonderfully. Meghan is a friendly girl with the cutest floppy ears and big brown eyes that would melt any heart. She also has ‘shorty-pie’ legs, which makes us think that she is that popular designer breed – ‘Labassador’. She is so cute running around the yard trying to keep up with her foster canine siblings. Meghan loves the attention she gets from her 6 year old foster girl and they can be found snuggling after playtime. Words from Meghan’s foster mom: “Meghan is a very well-mannered little girl with an award winning personality. She would be a great addition for any family and make anyone proud.” Meghan is crate trained and housetrained and does great with her house manners. She would love nothing more than to have a wonderful family to call her very own. Meghan is spayed, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. If you would like to learn more about this sweet girl, complete the online application and indicate Meghan in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Meghan, a Salem Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
