Muffin's Story...

Meet Muffin, a sweet, kind, gentle soul who just wants to find someone to love for life. Muffin is a gorgeous, medium-to-long-haired, spayed female who is current on vaccinations. She uses a litterbox like a good girl and is friendly with people and other cats. Muffin is soft-natured, mellow and gentle. She doesn't like a lot of chaos and constant noise. She is a sensitive, loving cat who is used to a quieter, calm household with an elderly couple. Muffin would love to spend her time watching the leaves and birds out the window, napping on a warm, loving lap while having her head scratched and lounging in her cat tower or cubby. She is a special girl who deserves a loving home with someone who wants a quiet, affectionate cat and loving companion. Adoption fee: $60. Adopt a pair: $90. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations and spay.

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at the link above or send an email to info@pawsforliferescue.org to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Muffin, a Troy Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Troy, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
