Emmie's Story...
Hi - I'm Emmie and I am approx. 1 year young. I am incredibly sweet, friendly and outgoing. I am now spayed, vaccinated, FeLv tested (negative) and treated with a monthly preventative for ear mites, fleas and worms. I am an incredibly lucky young girl. I was saved just in time (literally) from a high-kill shelter. I had given birth to my 4 kittens in the shelter and shelters don't keep mom's and little ones around -so we were scheduled to be put down the next day. Luckily A4A heard my story and came to save our lives! I get along great with everyone I meet- children, cats, dogs...I am a lovebug!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emmie, a Xenia Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Xenia, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Xenia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Xenia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Xenia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Xenia paves the way for another one to be saved.
