King's Story...
My name is King and I was brought to a shelter because my family did not want me anymore. I am not sure why because everyone keeps telling me I am the sweetest boy in the world! Well, it was probably a good thing! I just got my first dose of heart worm treatment and will be having my second one really soon. I do have Ehrilica, which is treatable through antibotics. I love other dogs, cats and people - that is I want more than anything is for someone to pay attention to me. I am about 4 years old, short for a Golden Retriever but I look like a cuddly bear! I am house trained and I love to play with tennis balls! I am not a big fan of a crate though - those are not fun for me. Like I said, EVERYONE is saying I am the sweetest boy and I have never met an enemy. So if you are looking for a short, squatty lovable golden boy that will sit in your lap why you watch TV, that's me!

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

King, a Glastonbury Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Glastonbury, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Glastonbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Glastonbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Glastonbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Glastonbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
