My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: I am in my new foster home and loving every minute of it! I am house trained and ok with cats. My foster mom says I am a very sweet girl! I do however DO NOT like to be left alone. I suffer from a little "separation anxiety" and would be best in a home where my family is home a lot! BACKGROUND: My life before AGK was not all that rosy. You see, I was chained up and lived in this person's backyard. Next door lived a yappy, MEAN dog that hated me. Well, he finally got out and came into my yard and attacked me. So, I fought back. I mean, what is a girl suppose to do? And guess what? I was the one that went to jail! Can you believe that? But you know how people say, everything happens for a reason? Well, I would like to thank that little dog because life is about get a lot better for me! My name is Charlie - and yes, I am a 6 year old FEMALE Golden Retriever. I am quite beautiful with my dark red coat, I love people and are very friendly too. I am a little on the heavy side (80 lbs) - you know it's hard to exercise tied to a tree! I did have heart worms and the nice people with AGK paid for my treatment. But other than that, I am healthy - well...have the golden ear infection but what Golden has not had that, right? My home needs to be calm, no children under 12 and do like other dogs as long as they are nice to me. I might have post trauma over the small mean dog so probably no little dogs in my house would be ideal. Anyway, I am waiting on a foster parent to come pick me up so they can tell you more about how I will be inside a house. That sounds like fun - I hear you get toys, clean water, treats and... I WON'T BE TIED TO A DANGUM TREE!
