Dukester's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and not good with dogs.

Dukester's Story...
Dukester is almost 2 years old, having spent quite a few months in our kennel. It doesn't appear that he's dog-social, and he needs training. Our dog-walkers routinely take him for walks, so he's learning how to behave on leash. In other respects, he's a fairly laid-back dog and not a barker. We think he would be a good pet for an adult home or one with older kids. Because he has some rear-end weakness that is believed to be neurological, Dukester would not be an ideal candidate for trail hikes or lengthy walks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dukester, a Fillmore Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Fillmore, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Fillmore.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fillmore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fillmore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fillmore paves the way for another one to be saved.
