Dora's Story...
Dora is 3 year old lab/hound mix that is a very sweet and gentle girl. She is a bit timid and needs a quiet home, ideally with another calm dog companion to help her feel secure. Dora has great house manners and is house-trained. She is learning some crate training but does better on her dog pillow in the floor when left alone. Dora needs a home where she can experience lots of patience and love and a family willing to help her with her timidness. If you would like to meet Dora, complete an application at www.henricohumane.org to get started.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dora, a Richmond Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
