Dixie purebred Urgent's Info...
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
located in Redding
please see adoption process on our site
Dixie was born 10-30-11 a non papered pure Aussie, tri color and much much more beautiful than her picture
Dixie is looking for a active adult home one older child fine another med to large dog to play with would be super but no small dogs nor x large breeds
Dixie is a loving beauty she likes any gender human but loves the gentle type of man, though she was raised with a 3 yr old she prefers an adult home as Dixie prefers that and is not a kids dog
She loves to hike in nature and going to the dog park according to her caretaker
She loves to chase birds and sometimes do her job she was bred for rounding up cows
loves playing in water and fetch the ball
she knows commands like sit, down, off, leave it, no, outside, high five shake with both paws
Dixie is looking for someone home during the day that has time and breed experience and energy to play and walk her daily
She would love a country home or outskirts of city she would make a great beachdog in a cooler climate too
a real beauty and smart too
She will need training and plenty of daily exercise with a person that knows herding type breeds she likes to jump up on you once in a while and do her herding nip NOT biting but that's what herding dogs do and she will do it every so often with kids it's not a mean aggressive thing but in the breed and nothing that cannot be trained out her current owners situation has changed and she now has a few kids at the new place which is not working out her owner also is not breed experienced so does not know how to fix it so Dixie must go to someone that knows the breed
she's a great dog and fully trained but owner missed to train her not to herd people
Dixie did herd cows a few times so she maybe could be trained to actually be a working dog as long as she can still be a family member and a housedog
Dixie loves guys over woman and is looking for a good leader though a alpha woman that knows how to be a leader and as smart as the dog would be just fine
We prefer an adult home but if you are dog experienced with herding breeds and willing to train Dixie than an older child over 12 would be fine
Dixie needs to find the right home asap but cannot go to someone that only wants her for looks
If you cannot adopt and feel you could foster her and are the right person for her we may be open to that
adoption fee, home check or pictures, references, fenced yard
