Moka's Story...
Here's Moka a sweet loving 6 year old Aussie/Newfoundland mix. Moka weighs about 80 pounds of pure love. She was very well loved and well taken care of until her owners who fell on hard times and had to give her up. Moka loves to fetch, play, chew on bones and play in the water. She is great on a leash and even better off leash. She will come when called everytime especially if there is treats involved. She plays well, but vocal, with other dogs even the bratty puppy in her foster home's house. She is learning to get along with the foster's cats but will maybe chase new ones. Moka is my referee, she loves to be in the middle and will tell the other dogs to calm down if she feels they are getting out of control. Then she wants to be the one playing Moka has alleries which she takes shots for We are still working on how ofthen but this will be a problem for her the rest of her life so that really needs to be considered when adopting her. She just wants to be loved and have a secure place. Is that place in your home? Please fill out a statement of interst at www.alternativehumanesociety.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moka, a Bellingham Australian Shepherd/Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Newfoundland for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Newfoundland breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
