Archie's Story...
My name is Archie. I am a 7 year old 110 pound shepherd mix. I was in a very loving family until it fell apart and they fell on hard times. The folks at AHS were kind enough to offer me sanctuary and hopefully a new family to love me. I am very well mannered in the house. I walk very well on a leash now that I've been trained. I love to run off leash and am a very good boy to come back to you when you call. I love car rides and can't wait to go everywhere with my new family. I get along well with most other dogs and even the bratty puppy in the foster home's house. I also get along with the kitties but they do fascinate me. I am pretty laid back and like to watch what everyone is doing and I love to be brushed. Water is fun and I love to lay in it so take me to the creeks or rivers and let me play. I will alert you when there is someone outside and welcome them into the house if you say it's okay. My old family loved me well and fed me very well and unfortunately I am overweight and need to lose some pounds. Please take me for walks or swim me and I will get back down to my proper weight soon. I hope you don't overlook me because I am a mature dog all I really want is a forever home. If that forever home is you please fill out a statement of interest at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Archie, a Bellingham German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
