LAYLA's Story...
This sweet young shep mix was thrown out of a car and abandoned a few months ago. We immediately brought her to our home to be cared for. After weeks of no response to ads in the paper and shelter, we had her spayed, dewormed and vaccinated. She is now about 1 year old and weighs about 70 lbs. She loves to play with all her other dogs and has lots of energy. However, she wants to be the alpha female of the household, so it would be best that she be the eldest female. She is fine with the 2 female puppies and all the other male dogs. She gets along with cats and kids, although she is quite strong and can knock them over! But she does not like our 2 pot bellied pigs. If you could foster or would like to adopt her, please Email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LAYLA, a Acton German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Acton, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Acton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Acton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Acton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Acton paves the way for another one to be saved.
